Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Yoko Kamikawa visits Port of Colombo

The Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Yoko Kamikawa visited the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) during her recent visit to Sri Lanka. SLPA Managing Director Prabath J. Malavige warmly welcomed the Minister and the Japanese delegation at the SLPA premises.

During the visit of the Japanese delegation at SLPA, discussions centred at ongoing and future developments in SLPA and the Port of Colombo (POC). The Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed her readiness to offer any necessary assistance and support for the development of the port sector in Sri Lanka. In recognition of her visit, SLPA Managing Director Prabath J. Malavige presented a special memento to Yoko Kamikawa.

The visit of the Japanese delegation at SLPA was also aimed at strengthening the long-standing bilateral trade relations between Japan and Sri Lanka. Japanese support and assistance have been instrumental in the progress witnessed at the Port of Colombo. Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki, SLPA Harbour Master Capt. Nirmal P. Silva and SLPA Director – Marketing & Business Development Nirmal De Fonseka were also present at the occasion.
