John Keells Group Chief Executive Officer, Vice President Senath Jayatilake stated, “John Keells Logistics is a key player in the 3PL landscape of Sri Lanka. And this latest venture will further enrich our service portfolio by establishing a world class infrastructure platform capable of providing superior warehousing and fulfilment solutions to both local and foreign supply chains.” Fulfilment solutions cover the entirety of a client’s supply chain including inventory management, order picking, packing, value addition, assembly, delivery and returns management of products. Jayatilake further added, “This is a considerably large operation with a cargo storage capacity of 40,000 cubic meters. The facility is also capable of handling over 300,000 cubic meter of cargo per month in a single shift operating model.”

“There will be multiple users and industries occupying this facility, and it will offer a one stop shop service proposition for fulfilment and warehousing requirements.”

Fast moving consumer goods such as food, household items, electronics, garments as well as industrial product such as paints and lubricants would be handled at LogiPark International.

This would also include both imports and exports cargo from many existing and future BOI enterprises.

Jayatilake also said, “We can offer services to BOI enterprises as our facility is at the foot of the country’s highway master plan and therefore, can reach all parts of the Island in addition to the international airports very efficiently. An excellent connection to the highway means that many consumer goods can reach the market within very short lead times. We can expect this to also fuel more efficient trucking operations.”

Commenting on the cutting edge technology of the facility, he added, “Our operations will be completely paperless and digital and we expect to introduce many first time technologies at this facility.”
