MIT Cargo Ltd., a pioneer in the freight forwarding and logistics industry, was recognised with the Bronze Award under the Service Providers category - Logistics Sector (Large Scale), at the recently concluded National Chamber of Exporters Awards 2019. MIT’s extensive global network, in-depth knowledge on industry verticals, compliance, corporate culture and their highly qualified and committed team were the keys to success in offering the unsurpassed service and solutions to the diversified Exporters of Sri Lanka. This year, NCE focused on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as the most decisive factor when adjudging the winners. The ongoing CSR and Go Green Projects at MIT were the reasons for MIT to be recognised above the rest for this award.
“We are indeed proud of our achievement, and I wish to extend my gratitude to the NCE for having programs of this nature, which push corporates to constantly raise the bar. This has been a very productive year for us at MIT, and as a team we put in a lot of effort to help the nation’s exporters reach global markets. It’s indeed heartening to see that our approach to promoting Green Logistics and the work we do to enhance the supply chains of key Sri Lankan Exporters has received this recognition,” said MIT Cargo Chief Operating Officer Priyantha Punchihewa. With a humble beginning in 1985, MIT Cargo Ltd. is now a premier provider in cargo forwarding and logistics solutions globally with expertise in handling complex projects. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Hayleys PLC, the number 1 listed corporate in Sri Lanka, with a proud history of over 140 years.
