The Shippers’ Academy Colombo is organising a half-day online workshop conducted via Zoom about understanding freight management and a second session on the current market conditions and the forecast for 2022 for export and import freight markets.
Currently the international freight market has peaked with space restrictions due to supply chain disruptions; traders need to understand the developing situation to plan out export/import freight costs in advance for the upcoming calendar year to minimize cost impacts and to get space allocated for shipments.
The online Zoom event will be held on Saturday 27 November from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will have two sessions, the first being a training on freight management and the second an industry discussion on how to prepare for freight contracts for 2022.
There will be a panel of six speakers on the second session, led by Export Freight Group CEO Shanmugam Sentilnathan, South Asia Retails Regional Director and APL Logistics Bangladesh Managing Director Sujeewe Rupasinghe, CL Synergy Director Janaka Udumulla, Global Logistics Solutions, India Ltd. Owner Naveen Prakash, Pership Group General Manager Nilud Fernando and MAS Active Trading General Manager, Commercial and Logistics and Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council Vice Chairman Imalka Kumarapeli. The session will be moderated by of Shippers’ Academy International Founder and former Secretary General of Asian Shippers’ Council, Rohan Masakorala.
