On 19 November, the Port of Colombo conducted a joint emergency response exercise focused on CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives) scenarios. The exercise brought together key agencies, including the Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Coast Guard, and the Fire Brigade and Security Division of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA).

Observers for the exercise included representatives from the United States Coast Guard, the US Army, US Fire Services and the Disaster Management Centre of Sri Lanka.

This event marks a significant milestone as the first-ever joint CBRNE response drill at the Port of Colombo, with multi-agency representation providing valuable insights and collaboration opportunities.
