Shippers’ Academy Colombo will hold a half day workshop on Monday, 26 March at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to upgrade the knowledge of the local industrialists, service providers and the investors on the existing operations and procedural structure of the Board of investment (BOI).
A former retired director investor services will give an update to the trade on the following subjects in addition to the BOI facilitation through the Customs ASYCUDA system and the new digital submission the Customs have introduced will be discussed. They include The processes of export/import via BOI; Operations structure; Needed documents; Cancellations and transfers; Subcontracting process; Zonal operations; What are the issues faced by BOI?; Do’s and do not’s; and How to seek help and clarification.
This will be followed by an industry panel discussion with experiences faced by the companies who currently work with the BOI.
Working knowledge with Customs, Ports and BOI are essential elements for international trade players in Sri Lanka. The Shippers’ Academy Colombo annually conducts such programs with former and current senior officials of the industry to help industry to upgrade and bring in knowledge to new entrants to the trade.
