Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman Rtd. Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe last week called for unity to ensure greater success.
“We have entered an era where we must identify our weaknesses, overcome them, and work together for the success of the country,” said Ranasinghe while participating in the 2025 New Year inauguration ceremony of the SLPA, held recently at the Sri Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Chaitya premises.
Speaking further, he emphasised the importance of building on the achievements of the Port of Colombo in the previous year and fulfilling the new responsibilities entrusted to the institution. The Chairman highlighted that, under the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ national initiative spearheaded by the President and the Government’s ‘Prosperous Country - Beautiful Life’ program, it is essential for everyone to work together to clean the environment and reform systems across the country. This, he said, is vital for creating an optimal socio-economic environment for future generations.
The Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Eng. Janith Ruwan Kodithuwakku, SLPA Vice Chairman Eng. Herath Jayawardena, Managing Director Eng. Ganaka Hemachandra, as well as several senior management executives, staff members and employees of the SLPA also attended the event.
