One of the key documents in international payments for cross border trade is Letters of Credit (LCs). The document that is generally transmitted through the banking system is a risk mitigation by most exporters and governments when transacting high value large international shipments. It is a methodology of payments fulfilment when documentary aspects are considered in line with the agreements between buyers and sellers transmitted through a banking system, commonly known as the UCP 600.
This workshop is intended to give a general understanding to exporters and importers and traders along with service providers to get a basic knowledge of the following areas: What is a letter of credit and its importance? Features and characteristics and documents required; How it works, the process, examples, sample format and type of LCs, etc.
The program will be conducted by Shippers’ Academy Colombo/Shippers’ Academy International CEO Rohan Masakorala on Saturday 12 February from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Those interested can contact +94773820703 (on WhatsApp only) or email: [email protected] or [email protected].
