DP Logistics Ltd. (DPL) recently extended its integrated end-to-end logistics solutions to effectively bring down electronic items from China through a Sri Lankan Airlines Charter flight, adhering to all COVID-19 related safety regulations and precautions.

This solution was successfully accomplished in very challenging circumstances. China was on the brink of the Chinese New Year holidays and the client was struggling to get the goods out of the country, prior to the holidays. It was against a backdrop of a huge capacity crunch, several limitations due to the holiday season and the situation with the global pandemic, that DPL stepped in to partner with Sri Lankan Cargo and come out with the customised logistics solution which included chartering an aircraft to bring the goods to Sri Lanka.

DPL’s counterpart in China organised the logistics requirement in the country from collecting goods in the bonded area, palletising them in a dedicated warehouse, transferring them to the Shanghai Pudong International (PVG) airport, and processing all customs formalities and requirements in a record time to have the goods cleared within the relevant timelines. DPL’s team coordinated the whole process from China to Sri Lanka and once the goods arrived, ensured that they were cleared and delivered to the relevant party in a timely and safe manner.
