The Cabinet of Ministers last week approved a long-term contract of transporting dry ration stocks to United Arab Emirates-based Coral Energy DMCC for the years 2023 and 2024.
The proposal to this effect submitted by Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva to award the contract of engaging Mv. Ceylon Breeze and Mv. Ceylon Princess in service to Coral Energy DMCC who submitted the bid was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting.
Cabinet Co-Spokesman and Minister Bandula Gunawardena speaking at the post-Cabinet meeting media briefing said the move was made following their financially attractive quotation and the recommendations of the technical evaluation committee and the standing procurement committee.
“Out of the nine bids received, six were for time rental basis and three were for commercial management basis. The selection process involved rigorous evaluation by the technical and procurement committees to ensure the highest standards of service quality and cost-effectiveness,” he added.
