The Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a top forum on logistics and transport on Friday 23 March followed by dinner at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
Titled ‘Press for progress via sustainable logistics and transport’ the WiLAT event and the theme also coincide and in line with the International Women’s Day which fell on 8 March and its theme. The event is in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Activities of the forum include presentations by eminent speakers, a panel discussion followed by Q&A session and recognition of partners of WiLAT Sri Lanka. This would be an ideal opportunity to network and share best practices with delegates comprising of Logistics and Transport professionals and academics from both public and private sectors.
A special feature of the Conference starting at 3 p.m. will be the showcasing of WiLAT Sri Lanka’s five year journey of contribution towards parity for women in Logistics and Transport.
Chief Guest will be the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport President Kevin Byrne whilst the Guest of Honour will be World IFC Program Manager Women in work Carmen Neithammer. Keynote will be delivered by Tsinghua University Institute of New Energy Technology Deputy Director Dr. Shizhong Li who will speak on ‘Bioethanol and sustainable transport’.Other speakers include WiLAT Hong Kong Advisor Miriam Lau who will focus on ‘role of women in sustainable logistics’ and Unilever Sri Lanka Head of Customer Service and Logistics Damith Abeyratne who will make a presentation on ‘Creating value to business through sustainable logistics’.
The forum will conclude with a gala dinner starting from 7 p.m. onwards. Exclusive partner for WiLAT Sri Lanka is EFL.
