Abacus International, Asia’s leading provider of travel solutions and services, has been honoured with the ‘Best New Technology’ award at the TravelWeekly China & Events China 2011 China Travel & Meetings Industry Awards.
Abacus, having held a foothold on this award for the past five years, was recognised for superiority and popularity of its product, as well as outstanding achievements and competitiveness in the travel industry.
Abacus International President and CEO Robert Bailey said, ‚It is an incredible honour for us to receive this award five years running – although it has been another challenging year in the travel industry, to receive such prestigious recognition is great affirmation and motivation for our team based in China. We are pleased that our efforts to support the travel industry locally are being acknowledged and praised.
Abacus has recently launched three solutions, including Abacus WorkSpace, a Next Generation point-of-sale solution that helps agency increase productivity and drive higher revenue through content aggregation. It has also launched Abacus Mobile, a web-based point-of-sale mobile solution and Abacus TripPlan, an online corporate travel management solution. Abacus has also released two enhanced solutions: Abacus PowerSuite, Asia’s first choice front-to-back financial management solution for the travel industry, introducing a Business Dashboard with on-demand reporting, and Abacus WebStart, the premium white label Internet booking engine with a new Web Content Management platform which empowers non-technical users to become sophisticated Web publishers and marketers in less than a day.

The 2011 China Travel & Meetings Industry Awards recognises outstanding achievements and contributions to tourism by travel companies in Asia Pacific. This year’s Awards received over 4.2 million votes by TravelWeekly China & Events China readers as well as industry peers in all categories.
The Awards were presented at a gala dinner event at The China World Summit Wing in Beijing on 29th August.
