Advantis Engineering, formerly known as Logiventures, won a Gold award at the recently concluded 24th Annual National Chamber of Exporters Awards 2016 (NCE Awards). The award is in recognition of their strong contribution to the country’s export earnings and their efforts in strengthening the nation’s reputation on the world stage through their Convertainers operations.

This comes in a year that the company set up the only facility in South Asia dedicated to the manufacturing of converted containers that meet the needs of a rapidly emerging and an evolving market.

Advantis Engineering being an innovator and a trendsetter in the container conversions industry became the first from Sri Lanka to export converted containers under their registered brand name Convertainers to global blue chip companies. Convertainers have become a favourite amongst these global leaders due to the brand’s constant innovation, consistent quality and value addition, which regularly exceeds 60% of the product’s total value. This value addition has also enabled the brand to create a direct foreign remittance scheme for Sri Lanka.

“We are proud to be recognised for our role in uplifting the national economy by capturing a global market through innovative space solutions. We have championed the use of these Convertainers both locally and globally and this award is a validation of all our hard work, commitment and the lasting impact we have made in the industry,” said Hayleys Advantis Ltd. Committee of Management Member Janitha Jayanetti.

Speaking of the win Advantis Engineering Deputy General Manager Kamal Wimalaratne said, “Convertainers is an innovative broad concept that we have succeeded to market and grow in the local and global context within a period of a decade. In addition to offering a product exceeding customer expectations, our ability to identify futuristic requirements of the container conversions industry, fast response to clients’ needs and timely delivery, continue to make us the most sought after supplier within the industry. To meet the growing demand for Convertainers we have invested in a fully-fledged container conversions facility that will also help us to continue innovating and retain our market position in this industry.”

The NCE Awards is one of the most anticipated high-profile events in the Sri Lankan business calendar and is known as the ‘Voice of the Exporters’. It recognises excellence within the local export sector, and companies that make indispensable and vital contributions to sustain and expand the Sri Lankan economy. The awards laud innovative advancements and excellence in the export industry under three areas – products, business and professional services, and service providers to exporters.
