Air Arabia wins top honour at Aviation Business Awards

Air Arabia, a leading regional low-cost carrier (LCC) based in Sharjah, UAE, said it has won two awards at the Aviation Business Awards 2014 held recently in Dubai, UAE. For the second consecutive year, Air Arabia was awarded ‘Low-Cost Airline of the Year’ title in the category based on its financial and operational indicators; said the UAE airline in a statement. The budget carrier was recognised for its pioneering example in LCC sector over the year, which included numerous route launches, aircraft investments and upgrades, on-time take offs, industry leadership and market innovation, it added. In addition to this, group CEO Adel Ali won the ‘Personal Achievement Award’. The title was in recognition of the achievements of Ali, a respected figurehead within the Middle East’s aviation industry, and for his efforts leading Air Arabia to success over the past 11 years. He was also recognised for his contribution to the overall airline industry’s growth, while raising the benchmark for regional and global excellence in the sector. Commenting on the success, Ali said: “To win two decorations at the Aviation Business Awards 2014, and to retain the title of ‘Low-Cost Airline of the Year’, is a terrific achievement for everyone involved at Air Arabia.” “With Air Arabia now flying to over 100 global destinations in our second decade of operations, we are more determined than ever to provide customers with a high-quality, value-for-money service.
