Asian Aviation Centre launches aerospace program for all

The Asian Aviation Centre Ltd., the premier aerospace engineering and flying training academy in Sri Lanka, held recently the inauguration of ‘The Aerospace for All Course 2013’, Sri Lanka’s only aerospace program for all aviation lovers at the largest hangar complex of the Asian Aviation Centre at Colombo Airport, Ratmalana.

The Asian Aviation Centre (AAC) is affiliated to Kingston University, UK and is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.

Chandran Rutnam, Chairman of the AAC and Dr. Peter Barrington, Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering/Field Leader, Aerospace Engineering at Kingston University graced the occasion.

Nihara Jayatileke, the Managing Director of the AAC, Air Vice Marshal Upali Wanasinghe (Retd.), the Founder of the ‘Aerospace for All Course 2013’, Air Vice Marshal  Prishantha De Silva (Retd.), the Director Studies of the AAC, the lecture panel and the newly enrolled student body of the The Aerospace for All Course 2013 were also present at the ceremony.

Aerospace for All Course 2013 is suitable for young people interested in the field of aerospace. Aerospace is one of the fastest growing fields in the world today and the demand for aviators, pilots, engineers and technicians are enormous.

The three month course, conducted in English, will cover topics on, the aviation industry, satellites, space vehicles and space travel, rockets, helicopters, aircraft and hovercrafts.

The program will give the youngsters a complete and comprehensive introduction to the world of aerospace. The aim of the course is to support young aviation enthusiasts to identify the opportunities available for them in the aerospace industry, which is experiencing fast-paced growth with the development of science, air travel and technology.

The youngsters will be able to improve their career potential and career pathways in this field, and determine their future.
