BTL Lanka Ltd., a leading shipping company in Sri Lanka operating since 1997 was recently awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Certification and was confirmed as the first shipping company in Sri Lanka to be accredited with the newest ISO standard for Quality Management System from DNV GL Business Assurance under UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accreditation.
“We are delighted that BTL strives to set standards in this industry by being the first to be certified for this new standard,” said DNV GL Business Assurance – Sri Lanka Country Head Rathika de Silva.
The scope of the ISO 9001 certificate for BTL Lanka covers ‘Providing service in shuttle feeder, shipping agency (onshore activities) and logistics’.
BTL Lanka certified for ISO 9001 since 2000 from Germanischer Lloyd and the new standard will ensure continual improvement in quality management and sustainable business performance, whilst integrating and aligning business strategies.
The formal presentation of this certificate to BTL Managing Director Ranjan Ratnasingham by DNV GL Country Manager Rathika De Silva was held at the roof top of the company’s office premises, recently which was followed up with a cocktail and dinner. Staff of BTL as well a few officials from GL office attended this event.
