Cebu Pacific has taken delivery of its 39th aircraft, an Airbus A320, as part of its expansion plans in the Asia Pacific region.
The aircraft is CEB’s 21st Airbus A320. The airline’s fleet also comprises 10 Airbus A319 and 8 ATR 72-500 aircraft.
Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 21 more Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft orders. It is slated to begin long-haul services in the 3rd quarter of 2013, with the arrival of 4 Airbus A330 aircraft from 2013 to 2014.
CEB flew more than 6.9 million passengers in the 1st half of 2012, a 17% system-wide growth compared to the same period last year. It aims to serve a total of 14 million passengers for the full year 2012.
It recently launched direct flights from Davao to Kalibo and Puerto Princesa on 2 August 2012, and is slated to launch the following flights: 4 October (Cebu-Coron), 5 October (Davao-Butuan, Davao-Dipolog, Tacloban-Iloilo), and 20 October (Cagayan de Oro – Zamboanga).
Other new routes are: 8 November (Iloilo-Hong Kong, Iloilo-General Santos) and 9 November 2012 (Iloilo-Singapore, Iloilo-Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro – Bacolod).
