China’s Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard (Group) Co has successfully delivered two 6,000HP tugboats to the Sri Lanka Government Ports Authority.
The Chinese shipbuilder in the Jiangsu Province delivered the two tugboats from its shipyard in Zhenjiang City on 9 February.
Boasting a latest ship design by the shipyard, the two tugs named Ravana and Pandukabhaya meet the notification of Lloyd’s Register, the company said.
Zhenjiang Shipyard said during the design process, many patented techniques from the shipyard in terms of energy-saving and environment-protection have been applied to both tugs while maintaining power and performance to reduce onboard energy consumption and for environmental protection.
As a result, the general performance of the two represents an international advanced level in the field of tugboats with big power, it said.
