CINEC Metro Campus, based in Nugegoda which is the largest private education and training facility in Sri Lanka, will hold its Open Day 2015 on 18 September inviting students who have completed their formal education or with pending results, as well as the industry professionals.
CINEC Metro Campus currently provides qualifications in Logistics and Information Technology. It has its own certificate and diploma levels in logistics and shipping in many specialised areas such as Professional Diploma in Freight Forwarding, Professional Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain and Professional Diploma in Shipping Management.
Students can then have the opportunity to complete the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s (CILT) advanced diploma which is equivalent to an Honours degree. With the increasing demand for the logistics and shipping industry in Sri Lanka as reflected on the fact that around 90% of the goods are transported via ships, it’s an ideal opportunity for students to embark on a vibrant career path not only locally but also globally.
The certificate courses in Logistic Services, Freight Forwarding and Multimodal Transport is approved and fully accredited by the Director General of Merchant Shipping which comes under the purview of Ministry of Ports, Highway and Aviation, and Certificate-Basic Ship Agency Functions conduct in association with CASA (Ceylon Association of Ship Agents) which aims at the students who wish to start their career in shipping trade.
The IT courses range from certificates, higher national diplomas to BSc. (Hons) top up programmes with collaboration of University of Wolverhampton and various industry oriented certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, Linux administration, Windows administration, etc thus catering to both to school leavers as well as industry professionals.
For beginners pursuing this field of study, the Metro Campus offers Diploma in ICT, Diploma in PC Maintenance and Networking, and International Computer Driving License (ICDL) trainings whilst the Higher National Diploma (HND) offered by Edexcel – UK has options of Software, Network or Multimedia for students to specialise in their desired area, which students use as a focal qualification for their top up programs. It also offers four specialised degree programs such as BSc (Hons) Computing Software Development, Computer Networks, Business Information Systems, and Information Technology.
