CMA CGM effects revenue restoration program and surcharges

CMA CGM last week announced a revenue restoration program and surcharges.

General rate increase

CMA CGM’s new rate restoration programme as follows:



Effective 1 January 2012:

•From Asia to East Coast of South America

+USD 600 per TEU*

•From Asia to Caribbean’s

+USD 560 per 20’

+USD 800 per 40’ and 40’ HC

•From Asia to South Africa

+USD 200 per TEU

•From Asia to Indian Ocean Islands

+USD 100 per TEU

Effective 5 January 2012:

•From Asia to Mexico, West Coast of Central America, West Coast of South America

+USD 500 per TEU

Effective 1 February 2012:

•From Arabian Gulf to Europe and Med

+USD 150 per 20’

+USD 250 per 40’ dry containers

•Peak season surcharge

Effective 15 January 2012:

•From New Zealand to Asia, South East Asia, Middle East, East Africa, South Africa, West Africa, North Africa

+USD 150 per TEU, all cargo (dry and reefer)

Port congestion surcharge

Effective 10 January 2012:

Dar Es Salam+USD 100 per TEU: for containers carried on the SWAX service (between India, Middle East Gulf and East Africa)

Mombasa CMA CGM has decided to increase its Port Congestion Surcharge (PSC) for Mombasa, from USD 110 per TEU to USD 210 per TEU, for containers carried on the SWAX service.*TEU = twenty foot equivalent unit.
