Daya Aviation, on its 10th anniversary was recognised and rewarded by the Chamber of Tourism and Industry Sri Lanka as an ‘Excellent Service Provider’ to the tourism industry as a domestic aviation service in the Eastern Province, Sri Lanka.
Initially starting as an aviation firm, Daya Aviation has now expanded to cater all travel trade needs. Apart from chartering aircraft or selling air tickets and hotel rooms, the firm now provides more services such as organising overseas training programs and VVIP diplomatic tours in Sri Lanka, says group director Chamindra Gamage.
It is probably the only local aviation firm that operated continuously during the last 10 years serving the public even during the war times. Now with an IATA accredited ticketing firm and separate departments to handle inbound and outbound its next step forward is to provide a 4G travel service, giving a total solution to all the travel trade needs, says Director Marketing Isuru Wijeratne. The award was presented by the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, John Rankin on Saturday 27 September at the event organised by the Chamber of Tourism and Industry Sri Lanka to commemorate World Tourism Day.
