  • Logistics giant honoured for enabling manufacturing excellence in Asia
DHL, the world’s leading international express services provider, has recently received the award for ‘Best Express Logistics Provider’ for the second consecutive year at the Asian Manufacturing Awards (AMA), since the category was introduced in 2013. The annual awards recognises businesses that enable excellence in manufacturing performance through the provision of industrial technology solutions and value-added services. This year, the AMA presented a total of 44 awards across six main themes comprising Automation and Control, Industrial Software, Logistics and Supply Chain, Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Corporate Social Responsibility. The winners were selected by an international panel of expert judges who closely analysed and ranked the nominations received. DHL Express Asia Pacific Chief Executive Officer Jerry Hsu said: “Asia is the gateway to some of the world’s busiest trade lanes, driven by manufacturing production and growing consumer confidence. DHL is constantly investing to ensure we have the right infrastructure to support a first class network. The award is an endorsement of the great service quality our people deliver every day to our customers around the world.” DHL has also been successful in advocating the reduction of carbon emissions – a major byproduct of manufacturing – with their customers. Through the company’s comprehensive GoGreen programs, DHL has been helping businesses reach their climate targets, improving the carbon efficiency in Asia Pacific by at least six percent. This latest recognition adds to a series of external honours won by DHL Express in Asia Pacific since January 2014. In May, DHL was named a Trusted Brand in the ‘Airfreight/Courier Service’ category at the highly acclaimed Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards 2014. DHL was also awarded the Platinum standard in Singapore and Hong Kong, and the Gold standard in Malaysia and Taiwan. It was also named ‘Best Express Operator’ at the Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards in June – the 26th time the company has clinched the award in its 28-year history.
