DHL Express recently announced its entry into Matara and Galle by opening two DHL service points in these areas as part of its extensive retail expansion plans. The opening of these DHL Service Points has increased its footprint across the country to 16.
DHL service points at Galle and Matara will be opened six days of the week and will offer services with simplified pricing, standard weight points and free packaging. DHL service point is a step towards increasing accessibility for DHL’s customers and also the convenience to walk-in customers for shipping solutions.
Customers in the Galle and Matara catchments can now have access to a suite of logistics solutions for businesses as well as individual needs. These range from shipping documents and parcels, packaging, and a time definite delivery service for urgent and mission critical shipments.
Malcolm Monteiro, Senior Vice-President & Area Director, DHL Express South Asia said: “Convenience and accessibility are key influencers for a customer looking for shipping solutions. Our entry into Matara and Galle is a step towards aligning ourselves to what our customers need in Sri Lanka. In addition to multinational and large corporations, our main focus is also to partner Small and Medium Enterprises in their endeavour to take their business to the next level. Enhancing our retail footprint will enable SMEs with access to DHL logistics services to reach their target market in the rest of the world.”
The Southern Expressway with its expansion to Matara in progress will be an added advantage for DHLs presence in the areas as it would reduce the time taken to arrive at service points.
