Eagle Logistics spreads wings to Biyagama

Eagle Logistics Colombo, a prestigious international logistics company opened their 2nd branch at Biyagama recently.

This office is a fully equipped branch providing all the services of a logistics company such as sales, customer service, operations and targeting customers in and around Biyagama, Malwana area.  

Eagle Logistics Managing Director Asanga Weerackody said that expanding into fully equipped branches with all the services is very important, as most of the freight forwarding companies have their branches for only operational purpose.

He further pointed out that the branch at airport serving customers in and around Katunayake area has shown a difference to customers as that branch also equipped with sales, customer service as well as operation facilities.

Further Weerackody said that Biyagama is a growing area with many banks also expanding their branches considering future growth in the business.

Eagle logistics started their operation in 2005 with one office and three staff members and today it has expanded to three offices with staff strength of 60.

One of the unique feature at eagle logistics is recruiting young staff mainly school leavers and moulding them into freight forwarders, which in turn help the industry to have new people rather than the same old people being transferred from one company to another.

Weerackody speaking further said this is the reason the company theme goes as ‘think different’ and this thinking has helped the staff to bring this company to this level today.  

Speaking further he said that their next goal is to take Eagle Logistics to China and India, where most of the business is right now.
