Emergency Maneuvering Lanka Ltd (EML) was recently awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification for Quality management system by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) and is the first Sri Lankan maritime security company to get top notch recognition with SLSI certification.
Sri Lanka having acclaimed worldwide for eliminating the ruthless terrorism from its shores, is equally committed and adequately equipped to ensure the safety of maritime transport from the scourge of sea piracy. Sea piracy off the coast of East Africa has been a growing menace that threatens international trade. In this background, Sri Lanka has taken the initiative to curb this hazard with a well coordinated strategy and is making rapid strides to become the hub for anti-piracy operations in the region.
EML, geared to launch maritime counter-piracy operations in the High Risk Areas, is the preferred choice by a large clientele of ship operators in the region as their exclusive On-Board Security Service Provider, ensuring the safety of crews and the security of ships and cargo operating in the area.
The sea marshals deployed by EML are highly trained and ‘battle hardened’ in the war against terrorism in Sri Lanka. They are drawn from the Sri Lanka Navy that has earned high recognition for combating terrorism and busting human smuggling scams in the island. Also deployed on these operations are those with years of experience in the Sri Lanka Armed forces. Weapons and equipment used for the purpose are those ideally suited and approved for international anti piracy operations
EML also provides agency services to foreign Security Companies, having been licensed by The Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka, with facilities to embark and disembark their security personnel and weapons at OPL Galle.
EML have been in the maritime operations and shipping agency business for last 17 years through Marine group of companies.
