Evergreen Line’s latest addition to its fleet, MV Ever Libra, on her maiden voyage to Europe from Asia, called at the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) on 9 November 2012. The ship, 334 m in length and 8,542 TEUs in capacity, discharged and loaded local and transshipment containers.
To mark this occasion, the Master of MV Ever Libra Capt. Lee Seu-Pei, on behalf of Evergreen Line, presented a memento to Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrema, the Chairman of SLPA.
Evergreen made an announcement in 2011 that it would upgrade and expand its fleet by 100 more modern, eco-friendly, and larger capacity ships. Evergreen’s volume throughput in Colombo is expected to increase by 25% in year 2012 as against the volume handled in 2011.
