Hanjin Shipping receives 10,000TEU class containership

Hanjin Shipping has recently received a 10,000TEU class containership.

Named “Hanjin Spain”, this new vessel is the fourth of the series of five 10,000TEU class ships ordered at Samsung Heavy Industries.

According to Hanjin Shipping, “Hanjin Spain” will be deployed in Asia-Europe trade soon after the delivery.

Attending the naming ceremony, Won Woo Lee, Chief Executive of Container Business Unit at Hanjin Shipping, commented, “We are delighted with the delivery of this state-of-the-art mega vessel. It will be a valuable asset in elevating the competency of our customer service.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the series is scheduled to be delivered during this year.

 “Hanjin Spain” Specifications: Loadable Capacity: 9,954TEU, Dead Weight: 118,000 Tons, Engine Output: 93,000 Horse Power, Length: 349 Meters / Width: 45.6 Meters and Speed: 25.1 Knots (Approximately 50km/h)

From May 7 the ship was deployed in the NE-6 (Asia North Europe -6) Service with Port Rotation being  Kwangyang – Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Xiamen – Hong Kong – Yantian – Felixstowe – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Singapore – Kwangyang

 

Hanjin Shipping restores rate for Asia-Europe trades 

Hanjin Shipping from May 15 irate restoration plan for Asia-Europe trades.

For Far East to North Europe/Mediterranean the rate on Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) is $ 200 and for Forty-foot Equivalent Unit (FEU) it is $ 400. For South East Asia/Indian Sub Continent and Middle East to North Europe/Mediterranean it is $ 150 per TEU and $ 300 on FEU.

“Despite our utmost efforts to reduce costs, it is inevitable for us to restore rates in order to maintain service quality and schedule reliability in the midst of hiking operation expenses. We will continue to seek all possible measures to meet our customers’ needs,” Hanjin said.
