Hapag-Lloyd has announced two rate hikes in separate moves.
One is a rate increase for East Asia to Indian Subcontinent from 15 January 2013 for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia (excluding Japan) to the Indian Subcontinent by US$ 200 per TEU.
India Subcontinent is defined as being the ports in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India.
Additionally Hapag-Lloyd announced implementation of General Rate Increase (GRI) for all dry, non-operative reefer, flat rack and open-top containers from India Subcontinent to all USA and Canada destinations, to become effective from 1 February 2013 (date of cargo receipt at origin), as set out below:

Indian Subcontinent is defined as being the countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
