International supply chain expert to speak on supply chain maturity on 11 Janaury

Untitled-3A great opportunity awaits Chief Executive Officers, Executive Directors, Consultants, Managers and interested professionals from any field to get updated in the latest world class business solutions and international best practices in Supply Chain Management. Two events of three-hour duration each is scheduled to take place in Colombo as a seminar on 11 January 2016 and a workshop on 14 January 2016, organised by the Department of Transport and Logistics Management, University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). The international expert for both events will be Tillmann Böhme MBA PhD, from Australia. 

Dr. Tillmann Böhme belongs to a team of global researchers constantly seeking and sharing supply chain best practices and world class business solutions through a joint applied research method termed Quick Scan Audit Methodology, which allows the conduct of a rigorous supply chain assessment. He has firsthand auditing experience in process industry, manufacturing and engineering companies and service industry in New Zealand, Netherlands, UK and Australia. 

He has a PhD and MBA from the University of Waikato, New Zealand while he completed his undergraduate education in Economics at University of Applied Sciences, Kiel, Germany. Dr. Böhme is currently attached to the Sydney Business School at the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. His research interests are supply chain integration, supply chain innovation and enhancement. 

The seminar on 11 January at the Kingsbury Hotel is targeted mainly for CEOs, Directors, Managers, Consultants and other professionals to learn about the role of international supply chain benchmarking to achieve process/supply chain maturity and hence increase profitability. Strategic supply chain insights are shared from companies around the world; common barriers, enablers and best practices highlighted. 

It is now a known fact that the nature of competition is changing, and although companies still compete against other companies, they increasingly need to leverage the strength of their suppliers and customers to gain a competitive edge. Success depends on the extent of internal process maturity and the interface design across company boundaries to better meet customer needs.  

The workshop on 14 January at the National Chamber of Commerce is targeted mainly for top and middle level practitioners to learn about tools and techniques required to diagnose existing supply chains and transform them into innovative and highly profitable value streams. Industry insights from successful supply chain improvement initiatives are shared that fundamentally transformed organisations and put them on a pathway to growth and continuous improvement and innovation.     

All participants will be awarded a valuable certificate from University of Moratuwa. Each event will also carry 10 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points for members of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Sri Lanka. The investment for the seminar is only Rs. 4,500 per person while for the Workshop is only Rs. 4,000 per person. The investment for participation in both events is Rs. 7,500 per person. 

Furthermore CILT members and employees of CILT corporate partners will receive a 10% discount. Institutions may send different participants for each event while institutions registering three or more participants will receive a 10% discount.
