HDS Lines, Iran’s pre-eminent container shipping company has commenced direct service to Colombo.
HDS Lines serves the trade with distinction as Iran enjoys being the second largest importer of bulk and packeted tea from Sri Lanka which in 2013 recorded some 40 million kilos.
HDS Lines offers regular advertised sailings to cater to the most discerning customer requirements of the trade. Excellent containers are especially positioned to Sri Lanka to meet the stringent demands of the shippers/buyers. Importers on HDS enjoy duty concessions in Iran thus giving them a competitive advantage over non HDS customers.
The services offered are direct and fast with no transshipment involved and therefore highly predictable and not subject to delays or missing of connections at transshipment ports.
Excellent marketing and customer services are provided to HDS customers with pre and post shipment up to date information relayed to customers as required. HDS takes pride in providing quality services that meet customer expectations, constantly enhanced by due process management and improvement to deliver customer satisfaction of a very high degree.
Additional markets via Iran can be serviced in order to cater to Sri Lankan exporters to CIS destinations, Turkey etc. in due course.
HDS also offers, perhaps, the best shipping service from Iran to local importers, especially the bitumen importers to cater to Sri Lanka’s ongoing infrastructure development such as highways, expressways and expansion and improvements to the road network.
