CL Synergy, which has been chosen by the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) as the preferred logistics solutions provider, has positioned its strategies in the region for the coming year in an effort to bolster the nation’s largest contributor to the export revenue.
“Through this strategic partnership, we endeavor to support the JAAF in making Colombo a consolidation hub for the regional brands,” said Roshan Silva, the Managing Director of CL Synergy. “Based on our regional presence, we believe that we could add to the intra-regional flow of investments and expertise in South Asia with imports, catering to a full supply chain.”
At present, Sri Lanka’s Apparel sector holds interest for the region, primarily for its expertise, high value business model and relationships with leading international brands.
“Whilst looking into facilitating a full supply chain, CL Synergy would also craft a standardised cost structure inclusive of competitive tariffs for imports, exclusively for members of JAFF,” he said.
He added that visibility of the entire supply chain would be more cohesive when CL Synergy aligns its existing mechanism with a specialised web-lined system. Such integrated solutions, he said would enable a swift and efficient transfer of information across two systems, negating delays and barriers.
The JAAF represents all stakeholders of the apparel industry and not only export oriented but also domestic manufacturers catering to the local market as well. The value of business handled in both imports and exports in Sri Lanka currently exceeds $6 billion. In terms of practice, the industry aspires to be ethical, efficient manufactures of a sustainable industry.
“As a company which prides itself for being truly Sri Lankan, CL Synergy aligns itself with the ethos of the JAAF, which is for the furtherance of their services in an ‘ethical, transparent and efficient’ manner,” he added.
