Korean Air Cargo has launched a new mobile website that offers a convenient and accessible cargo service to customers worldwide anytime, anywhere.

Customers can enter the mobile website through Korean Air Cargo’s homepage or by using the QR code. Smart phone and tablet PC users with Android, iOS and Blackberry 6.0 can simply key in the URL of Korean Air Cargo’s homepage, and then be directed to the mobile website automatically.

This new mobile website means cargo booking and storage charges are now accessible at customers’ finger tips. It also provides a platform for customers to track their cargo via Cargo Tracing, as well as receiving updates on custom clearance, cargo category and current operation status at the cargo terminal. Customers can also check flight schedules, arrival and departure status, and basic information about local branches.

In other news, Korean Air Cargo delivered 1,400 tons of Beaujolais Nouveau to Korea and Japan on 1 November 20111. Beaujolais Nouveau, a celebrated red wine, is produced in Beaujolais, a region next to the Burgundy wine region of France. The release of this early wine – the third Thursday of November every year – has become an internationally-renowned festival.

Beaujolais Nouveau is being brought into the region on almost 15 Boeing 747-400 cargo aircraft.  Formerly, these wines could take up to two weeks to transport, but Korean Air Cargo has made a commitment to deliver the Beaujolais Nouveau fresh within days. To ensure that the quality of this wine is preserved, Korean Air has minimized cabin vibration, maintains the appropriate temperature, and assigns a dedicated cargo expert to each flight to closely monitor the wines.
