Lufthansa Cargo celebrates 23 years of partnership with Delmege Group/Lewis Brown Air Services

Lufthansa Cargo, one of Europe’s leading airlines, operating to 254 destinations which comprises of 57 freighter aircraft and 197 passenger aircraft recently celebrated its 23 year partnership in Sri Lanka with longstanding business partner Lewis Brown Air Services Ltd., a member of Delmege Group, Lufthansa’s General Sales Agent for Sri Lanka and Maldives.

The momentous occasion was celebrated at the German Embassy under the auspices of Ambassador of the federal Republic of Germany Dr. Jurgen Morhard, First Secretary Gerhard Truemper, Delmege Forsyth Director Ravi De Silva and Lewis Brown Air Services Manager Handling and Reservation Buddhika Abeygunawardana. The event also coincided with the upcoming departure of Dr. Morhard as he was scheduled to leave for his new assignment overseas. He wished the continuation of the long journey into the future for Lufthansa Cargo and praised the strong relationship with longstanding industry partner Delmege Forsyth & Co Ltd.

Ravi De Silva CEO/Director of the Airline Cluster at Delmege including Lewis Brown Air Services Ltd., extended his appreciation to the Sri Lankan Airlines Cargo Team and their many Logistic Partners in Sri Lanka and Maldives for their invaluable support extended through this long period of 23 years. He also predicted a busy winter schedule for the freight forwarding industry from November 2016 with the planned commencement of Austrian flight operations into Sri Lanka.

Lufthansa Cargo connects the continents through its main hubs in Germany namely Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Vienna with the acquisition of Austrian Airlines and partnership with Swiss World. To date Lufthansa Cargo has flown 1,630 MT across the globe, and successfully generated a revenue of € 2,354.9 million during the year 2015. The Lufthansa product portfolio offered in Sri Lanka by Delmege Forsyth & Co. Ltd. covers an array of cargo including General Cargo, Express Cargo, Dangerous Goods, Courier Solutions, Live Animals and Perishable Goods to name a few.
