Leading maritime education provider, MERCMARINE Training (MSTI) has successfully conducted a series of training programs for the Airline Cabin Crew Diploma conducted by the International Airline and Aviation College (IAAC). The real life practical training programs included Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and Personal Survival Techniques. The aviation industry is a fast growing sector undergoing rapid changes world over alongside the hospitality industry. 

Understanding the need for highly trained manpower in the aviation sector, IAAC chose MSTI for its capability in being able to provide comprehensive practical training. IAAC, one of South Asia’s top authorised training centres, currently represents 240 airlines worldwide, with qualifications recognised by 84% of scheduled airline traffic.

The Diploma in International Airline Cabin Crew includes rigorous practical training essential for employment in the industry; therefore, through MSTI training facilities, IAAC was able to offer a world-class training program for students. With its state-of-the art training facilities, MERCMARINE is equipped to conduct training programs for a variety of academic programs including in the fields of Aviation and Maritime. The MSTI residential waterside training centre in Galle provides hands-on experience for trainees while the MSTI city campus in Colombo facilitates certification and competency programs providing the necessary skill and knowledge through theory.

MERCMARINE Training specialises in the training and development of Sri Lankan youth in the Maritime industry. The training arm has also obtained the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certifications from DNV and also operates as a City and Guilds (UK) approved training centre for its Catering and Housekeeping related training programs. All Maritime courses offered are approved by the Director General’s Office of Merchant Shipping (DGMS) – Ministry of Ports and Highways of Sri Lanka who is the Government-appointed single authority for all maritime related training in the country.
