After the 30 years of civil war, the field of Aviation is rapidly developing in Sri Lanka but for the people interested in aviation, unfortunately, there are very limited resources available. Understanding this necessity, the Aviation Voice team has launched and publicised a website ‘Aviation Voice’ in June 2013 as the first aviation-related news web portal in the island. The website is in both Sinhala and English. Parallel to the website, they have also created a FB fan page on aviation under the same name and at present, the website is going well. The FB page has more than 11,000 fans. Considering the requests of viewers and with the objectives of improving the industry knowledge among the general public, the Aviation Voice team decided to launch a magazine as its second step. The launching ceremony of the Aviation Voice magazine was held last week at the Russian Centre. Sri Lankan Aviation College General Manager Primal Silva, Sri Lankan Aviation College Manager Buddhika Hewawasam, Aspire Aviation Institute Country Head Kate Lowe, INFOTECHS Company Group General Manager Michelle Pinto, Sayaki Company Chairman Dammika Wickramaratne, and other distinguished guests also participated in the event. The Aviation Voice magazine is the first magazine in Sri Lanka which provides information on aviation while they have planned to publish the magazine once in two months. This is a bilingual magazine which targets aviation enthusiasts all over the country. The Aviation Voice team intend to publish latest news relating to the aviation industry of Sri Lanka, job opportunities available in the industry, the latest technology used in the field, etc. They intend to focus on covering all aviation-related events taking place in the country. They also hope that all aviation enthusiasts will link with them to spread the basic knowledge and the awareness of the aviation industry among Sri Lankans. This magazine is available at all Sarasavi bookshop outlets or you can order it online through the Aviation Voice website for Rs. 200.
