Nishantha Ranatunga assumes duties as Chairman/CEO of Mihin Lanka

Nishantha Ranatunga last week commenced his official duties as the Chairman/CEO of Mihin Lanka with an inauguration ceremony at the Mihin Lanka office in Colombo. The event began with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, followed by religious observances and blessings given by clergy from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu and Muslim denominations. The ceremony was presided over by a series of high profile officials including Secretary of the Civil Aviation Authority Dr. Ravinda Ruberu, Civil Aviation Authority DGCA/CEO H.M.C. Nimalsiri, Airport and Aviation Services Ltd. Chairman Prasanna Wickremasuriya and other ministry staff, Mihin Lanka board members, staff and officials. Nishantha Ranatunga joins Mihin with over 20 years of extensive managerial experience in the private sector, media and communications and the field of public administration and business management with a proven track record. Ranatunga’s forte is his strong leadership and managerial prowess, with the ability to play a multi-disciplinarian role in any organisation, being a self-motivated go-getter with natural flair for achieving goals and consistency in performance. He is a result-oriented achiever with an excellent track record for identifying opportunities for accelerated growth. Commenting on his new appointment at Mihin Lanka, Ranatunga stated: “It is with great pleasure that I commence my appointment as Chairman/CEO of Mihin Lanka. Mihin Lanka is fast becoming acknowledged as a quality airline service provider. The airline industry is a very challenging enterprise and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, management team and staff of Mihin Lanka to secure further growth and expansion for the airline in Sri Lanka and achieve positive recognition.” Ranatunga’s appointment as Chairman of Mihin Lanka will make him the 4th Chairman appointed to the company.
