Hellman Worldwide Logistics Ltd. has opened a state-of-the-art warehouse facility with total handling and logistics solutions for Prestige Automobiles Ltd., and Hyundai Lanka Ltd.
“We have been collaborating with Hellmann since the early concept phase and are delighted to partner with them in this prestigious project. The spare parts depot will be an important corner stone for efficient spare parts management,” Prestige Automobile Ltd. Chairman Heinz Reuter said.
Prestige Group Director Aftersales Volker Arnkens recalled that the idea of the new facility generated after a sales meeting in Myanmar where he decided to go out for outsourcing a warehouse for spare parts storage and logistics.
Since then in early 2016, Hellman was called to offer supply chain solutions on warehousing and logistics. In October 2016, an emancipated agreement was signed for a warehouse facility with total handling and logistics solutions.
The facility was eventually opened on 9 January 2017 with a momentous significance and dignitaries from Prestige Automobile Ltd., and Hyundai Lanka Ltd.
The spare parts warehouse facility will cater to the vast area of repair material with various line items in facilitating the customer needs. Fast moving and large volume spare parts and accessories will be stored in the warehouse for delivery to various destinations.
The distribution centre will be the central hub for intelligent spare parts logistics management. All incoming goods will be consolidated for delivery to BMW Service Centre, Collision Repair Centre and all Hyundai Dealers. “Soon shipments can be pooled to optimise materials flows and improve delivery times and quality,” Arnkens said.
