In honour of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Ceylon Association of Ships’ Agents (CASA) religious observances of the Buddhist, Catholic, Islamic and Hindu faiths were conducted on 26 June at the CASA premises to invoke blessings on CASA, its members and employees and the future endeavours of the association.

The ceremony was attended by several CASA members, the advisory council, executive committee and the secretariat employees. CASA which was first formed as a shipping committee in the year 1944, was formed as an association in 1966 and today has a membership that number 137 members engaged in various shipping agency functions across the industry.  The celebration of its 50th year reflects the pivotal role CASA has played in industry growth and in providing necessary support for its members, exporters, importers and ports in Sri Lanka as well as contributing to development in the industry by working closely with the Government through various committees.
