Simatech to launch new service linking Colombo to Chennai, Cochin and Gulf

Middle East-based SIMATECH Shipping LLC, the leading feeder operator in the Gulf and West Asia will be launching yet another new service linking Port of Colombo to Chennai, Cochin and the Gulf. The new service called CCG will be inaugurated with the arrival of MV Sima Perfect in Colombo on 17 February. The new service will be operated with three Simatech vessels and will replace the existing SGE service which was operated in partnership with Evergreen Line. The unique and inimitable feature of this service is that it will sail in the form of a butterfly having Colombo as the pivotal point and featuring two legs west bound and east bound. This further enhances Simatech’s weekly fixed day services from Colombo to the Gulf and provides Colombo the access to main Gulf ports. The new service will also attract more volumes from the existing AGI & CISC services to/from the Far Eastern ports of Port Klang, Singapore, Laem Chabang, Tianjin and Qindaoto/from Chennai & Cochin transhipped via Colombo. West bound: Chennai > Colombo (Monday)> Cochin > Jebel Ali East bound:  Jebel Ali > Cochin > Colombo (Tuesday) > Chennai Ports covered in the Gulf via Jebel Ali: Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Um Qasr, Kuwait, Dammam, Bahrain, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Sohar, Muscat, and Mogadishu (Somalia) Ports covered in the Far East: Port Klang (West port/North port), Singapore, Laem Chabang, Tianjin, Qindao SIMATECH’s services will contribute significantly to Colombo’s status as the hub port of South Asia by connecting Far East, South East Asia, Indian Subcontinent and the Gulf. With the capacity in the Port of Colombo opening up from the existing 4.5 million teu to seven million teus by April this year, Simatech has recognised the potential and have continuously introduced new services linking Colombo.
