SLFFA elects first lady chairperson at AGM

At the 34th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Logistics and Freight Forwarders’ Association, held on 3 July at the Hilton Colombo Residences, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Ltd. Managing Director Tania Polonnowita Wettimuny was elected as its Chairperson. 

In an industry dominated by men, Wettimuny was elected uncontested as the first lady Chairperson. 

Expolanka Freight Ltd Director/CEO Jagath Pathirane and CL Synergy Ltd. Managing Director Roshan Silva were elected Vice Chairman and Treasurer respectively. 

The Executive Committee elected for the period 2015/2016 comprises of Ace Cargo Ltd., Agility Logistics Ltd., DHL Global Forwarding Lanka Ltd., HTL Logistics Ltd., MAC Supply Chain Solutions Ltd., NDO Lanka Ltd., and Speedmark Transportation Lanka Ltd. 

The chief guest for the occasion was Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake and the guest of honour was Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council Chairman Sean Van Dort.
