SLPA wins award at SLFI

Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) won an award for one of the best exhibition stalls that implemented the State Language policy at the Deyata Kirula National Exhibition – 2014 in Kuliyapitiya. The award ceremony was held recently at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) in Colombo. It was organised by the Official Language Commission parallel to the Social Integration Week. The award went to three stalls at the exhibition namely, Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), Bank of Ceylon (BOC) and the Foreign Employment Bureau. The award winners were selected via a special board comprised of University Professors. The winning award for SLPA was awarded  by Minister of National Languages and Social Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara to the Deputy Chief Manager (Communication and Public Relations) of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Nalin Aponso. The Official Language Commission had launched a special implementation at Deyata Kirula National Exhibition 2014 to highlight the State Language Policy with the objective of One Sri Lankan Nation through sincere bonds of bilingualism. The Communication and Public Relations Division of SLPA on behalf of the institution carried a stable and continued mission during the past decade to clearly depict the Government Language Policy in many national events where the representation of SLPA was marked and highlighted. The Communication and Public Relations Division represents SLPA in all national and international main line exhibitions that are of greater developmental importance to the nation and the institution. All construction developments pertaining to superstructure, artistic and literary material in this regard are performed by the Division under instructions of SLPA Deputy Chief Manager – Communication and Public Relations Nalin Aponso under the guidance of SLPA Chairman Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama. A dedicated staff from the Communication and Public Relations Division of SLPA had been deployed at the stall during the whole period of this national exhibition. SLPA as a state institution that has adhered to the instructions extended by the Government, had constructed its exclusive exhibition stall with ample space for the visitors to grab a firsthand knowledge and experience of the ongoing developments at the Sri Lankan port sector. The SLPA exhibition stall at Deyata Kirula National Exhibition – 2014 was constructed following the guidance of Dr. Wickrama and instructions by Aponso. The Senior Manager – Communication and Public Relations Kumari Jayasundara and Asst. Manager – Communication and Public Relations Kawya Indrajith of SLPA also attended this recent award ceremony at the SLFI in Colombo.
