WISTA Sri Lanka to host International Spring Board Meeting in Colombo

This year, WISTA Sri Lanka will step into prominence as the host of the ‘WISTA International Spring Board Meeting’ on 5 May. The Spring Board Meeting will be attended by the WISTA International President Karin Orsel, along with the other board members. This meeting will followed by National WISTA Association Presidents’ meeting. 

WISTA Sri Lanka President Shehara Jayawardana together with the Executive Committee will be hosting a cocktail gathering after the Spring Board Meeting at the Cinnamon Lakeside. WISTA Sri Lanka members can network with the International Board members and the members from WISTA Asia Pacific Region. “We are delighted that WISTA International Board has chosen Sri Lanka to have their board meeting, it will be a great opportunity for our local shipping community to network with these eminent women form the global maritime industry,” said Shehara Jayawardana. 

The International Board members will be joining the WISTA Sri Lanka and CASA Asia Shipping Conference which will be held on 6 May and will be followed by a gala networking reception at the Colombo Hilton. For the first time in Sri Lanka a shipping conference is being held with a majority of female speakers. 

The Women’s International Shipping and Trade Association (WISTA) is an international networking organisation for women at the management level who are involved in the maritime transportation business and related trades. WISTA is acknowledged as a professional and highly reputable shipping organisation that focuses on improving the level of competency in the shipping industry. With its 1,800 members from 33 countries, the organisation supports the creation of international business relationships amongst its members.
