There’s no margin for error when shipping import/export perishable commodities – whether they be frozen, chilled or simply temperature controlled in an insulated container. That’s why the Shippers’ Academy Colombo (SAC) has designed and organised the topic that is very important and current to importers, exporters, service providers and to international trade executives to understand the operational aspects to protect valuable cargo, when such items are transported by air, sea or land.
The SAC Global Manager Series for career development: on international freight management is a set of short class room type training course to increase capacity and skills of personal involved in international freight management.
The half day workshop which will be conducted by an expert from Maersk Line along with resource persons from SLPA and a presentation on aviation from Expolanka Freight. The workshop will discuss sea, air and port operations related to perishable items. The program will be held on Saturday 16 August 2014 at the Distance Learning Centre, SLIDA Colombo 7.
The participants will be issued with a certificate, and the intake will be limited as it will be a class room session, registration will be on first come first served basis.
As logistics specialists, the overall training will help industry participants to refresh knowledge and acquire new knowledge on a specialised area. The course is targeted for shipping professionals, forwarders, logistics providers, exporters and importers, supply chain specialist, warehousing mangers, insurers, bankers and terminal operators and lawyers.
