YSP Chairman handing over a plant to the Chairperson of WiLAT to symbolise the occasion
As part of their commitment to protection of the environment, Young Shipping Professionals (YSP) pledged their support and joined the annual walk organised by Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT) Sri Lanka to ‘Strike a balance for a greener tomorrow’ recently.
Their participation marks a significant occasion as they partnered WILAT for the first time in line with the YSP objectives to compliment and collaborate with the other professional associations related to shipping and logistics in the country.
YSP Chairman Navin Perera speaking at the event said that it is very encouraging to note the uprising on protecting the environment around the world, and he congratulated WILAT for taking the initiative in creating awareness on this noble cause. He further stated that as YSP of CASA they believe and nurture the same values as the youth representing the maritime industry and this was a perfect opportunity to mark our presence and support WILAT with our objectives in partnering industry professionals along with CASA. This will be the first such event of many more to come, and he thanked the YSP members for joining in this noble endeavour.
WiLAT Chairperson Gayani De Alwis thanked the YSP for their participation at the walk and she hopes that this partnership will create greater value for the logistics sector.
The YSP Chairman also donated a plant to WILAT Chairperson Gayani De Alwis signifying the importance of greenery and of their support to protect Mother Nature.
