ZIM imposes peak season surcharge in Asia to Europe and west Mediterranean Trades

ZIM has announced that a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) of $150/teu will be implemented as from 15 August, 2011 in the Asia – North Europe and Asia — West Mediterranean (Tyrrhenian & Adriatic) trades.

Recently ZIM imposed a General Rate Increase (GRI) of USD 275 per TEU effective 1 August.

The GRI applies to westbound cargo from Asia and Indian sub-continent to West Mediterranean, Adriatic and North Europe destinations.

“This update is necessary in order to maintain our current levels of service and high reliability,” ZIM said.
