The European Union, the Norwegian Embassy and Rights Now held a Women’s Day Event: ‘Celebrating Sri Lankan Woman’ on 4-5 March at the Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) in Jaffna.
The event was organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day to enhance engagement and involvement of women at the national and regional levels. It brought together approximately 50 participants from different regions of Sri Lanka working on a range of women’s rights and gender issues.
Participants also made a field visit hosted by local women and discuss challenges and opportunities for positive engagement and cooperation.
