German Ambassador Dr. Juergen Morhard remembers the victims of the Asian tsunami, 10 years after the giant wave cut a swathe of destruction across thousands of miles, affecting tens of thousands of lives. More than 500 Germans, some in Sri Lanka, also lost their lives in the disaster. The aftermath brought an outpouring of help from Germany, both official and via private donations. Germans who were affected by the tsunami are returning to Sri Lanka to mark this milestone. Ambassador Morhard is seen here placing flowers at the tsunami memorial in Peraliya.
