The staff of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo celebrated Vesak on Friday, 14 May at the Embassy premises in Tokyo.
The Embassy premises was decorated and illuminated with colourful bulbs, Vesak buckets and Vesak lanterns made by the staff of the Embassy, bringing the Sri Lankan Vesak atmosphere to Tokyo. The guests along with the staff participated in lighting of buckets, reflecting Lord Buddha’s message of peace and harmony.
A dansala was also arranged by the staff of the Embassy for Japanese and Sri Lankan visitors serving Ceylon Tea and Sri Lankan food.
Many Japanese people who visited the dansala at the Embassy premises enjoyed Sri Lankan food and tea.
