Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait celebrates 67th Anniversary of Independence

On the occasion of the 67th Anniversary of Independence, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kuwait organised a ceremony on 4 February at the Embassy premises in Jabriya.
In the presence of a large gathering of Sri Lankans and other well wishers, the ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Charge d’ Affaires N.M.M. Anas followed by the singing of the national anthem. Two minutes silence was observed for the armed forces as a mark of respect for their sacrifices. Religious observances were conducted by the dignitaries representing the four major religions of Sri Lanka.
This was followed by the reading of National Day messages from the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. At the end of the ceremony refreshments were served.
