100th RCGC Club Championship: Reshan, Rajeeve create major shocks to move to quarters

The youngest in the event, Reshan Algama (13), had a sensational day, displaying some top-class golf

to beat Nirekh Tejwani. Additionally, former Davis Cup champion turned golfer Rajeeve Rajapakse toppled the much-fancied Kushal Johnpillai at the 100th RCGC Club Championship which took place at their golf course yesterday.  

Defending champion Yannik Kumara won his game against Gihan Siribaddana 5/4.Yannik Kumara will face Chanaka Perera at 1:10 p.m. in the first quarter-final today (3 December) followed with the other three games.

In the Ladies Bronze Cup, wins were registered by Frank de Mel, Dinoo de Mel, Ruani Desinghe, and V. Fowler Watt, who walked into the semi-finals , which will take place today.
